Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has just proclaimed a result of analysis that the Pangasius of Vietnam does not contain cancer causing substance or is infected harmful substance.

Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Thanh Bien showed that after Vietnam had struggled positively and timely, Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority took part in and affirmed Pangasius of Vietnam is not harmful.

The export enterprises of UAE can normally export Pangasius of Vietnam again.

However, to ensure safety for health, writing of the Vietnamese embassy in UAE sent to Ministry of Industry and Trade on the early June of 2009 advised that UAE continued to keep a close watch on consuming Pangasius on the domestic market and suggested each batch of export goods having to enclose certificate on not having chemical of Malachite Green.

Therefore, Ministry of Industry and Trade suggested Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development leading National Agro-forestry and Fisheries Quality Assurance Department (NAFQAD) to facilitate the procedure for licensing certificates for enterprises as stipulated.

Actually, from the early year up to now, erroneous information of Pangasius of Vietnam has appeared on the common media in Italia, Egypt and America that Vietnam must continuously correct. To Egypt market in the first three months of 2009, it imported over USD 6.5 of Vietnamese seafood.
